Acadia National Park Visitor Center in the Park.    This is where all visitor's to the park should stop.  When you turn into the entrance you will see the sign which directs you to go right.  You really should make sure that you also visit the first visitor center outside the park before you stop here because you can pick up a nice brochure which has a map of Acadia.  It will make your exploration a lot easier and informative.   At this Visitor Center,  brochures are available, but you have to purchase them.   Inside this facility though, there are a lot of wonderful books and 3D model map of Acadia which you should definitely see because it shows the lay of the land, all the names of the mountains, their elevation, the roads a trails, the ponds, oceans and lakes.  The steps that lead up have signs and special messages pointing out special interests for the park as you make you way through exploring this national treasure in Maine.
