There are just 2 campgrounds in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert, the one on the Bar Harbor side is the "Blackwoods Campground" and the one on the Southwest Harbor side is the Seawall Campground. There is one more at the Wildwood Stables which is available only if you have stock animals. All of these Acadia Campgrounds are tucked in the woods and do not offer waterfront camping. If you are looking for waterfront camping there are several to choose from in the Downeast area. If you want to head toward the Blue Hill Peninsula you'll find camping on Isle au Haut. To get there, you'll need to arrive by boat or take the mail boat. This island has one inn on it and there is no electricity. None at the inn either, just candles.
