Harbor Maine: Virtual Tour Guide and Information for "BUBBLE POND" |
|
|
|
Bubble Pond is a glaciated valley between Cadillac
Mountain and Pemetic Mountain, the 4th highest mountain in Acadia. The
bubbles are the rounded peaks at the end of this lake. Bubble pond has a
beach area and is also a nice kayak launch site. You will notice
trail entry points here. If you take the trail, it is strenuous
because it has a steep rise and at about half way up enters a narrow
canyon and stream that is over 15 feet deep. If you're here
in the winter, it is also makes for an exciting cross country ski trail. |

|
Explorer Note:
The term Pemetic comes from the early native
Americans meaning "sloping land". |
